ACCOMPLISHED QUILTER, TEACHER, FABRIC COLLECTOR, AND FLY FISHER
MY love of the needle arts began when I was five years old, playing at my mother's sewing machine. As a young adult I discovered the arts of quilting and fly fishing.
I knew I had found my BLISS! Geometric designs that use many different fabrics have intrigued me ever since I started quilting in 1978. A desire to capture the beauty and intrigue of fly fishing and nature in fabric led me to creating stylized pieced pictorials using smooth curved lines. My favorite part of the process is collecting and choosing fabrics. Sometimes I let the fabrics tell me what to do and create the work intuitively.
The piece is not complete until movement and texture are added through the quilting stitches. The piecing and quilting are done on my beloved old Bernina sewing machine. I am also an avid vegetable gardener and delight in playing music with my husband and friends.
